Kanaz Forest of Creation

The forest itself is a museum! Heal yourself by making things!

Located on a hillside, this art museum is a 20-hectare forest with a variety of art and hands-on facilities.

Visitors can enjoy art in the midst of nature at the main facility, Art Core, the museum’s glass studio, and other creative studios such as pottery and wax-dyeing.

Artists live and create in the midst of nature, which shows different expressions of the four seasons.

It is a place to experience the joy of creation, to be moved by the harmony with nature. The general public is welcome to participate in the workshop in the forest, where they can experience a variety of creative activities while enjoying the nature of each season.

In the one-day course, which allows visitors to casually experience creating works of art, visitors can try their hand at ceramics, glass art, wax dyeing, bamboo crafts, and more.

Various courses are offered to familiarize visitors with art as a familiar and everyday part of life, and events are held every year.

Creative Work Experience

  1. Bamboo Craft Experience: Under the guidance of a bamboo doll craftsman, visitors can create daffodils and dragonflies. Bamboo craft kits are also available.
  2. Ceramic art: A ceramics instructor will teach you how to make a teacup, coffee cup, etc., even if you are a beginner. Cloisonne ware experience is also available.
  3. Handkerchief dyeing: Visitors can try their hand at handkerchief dyeing using batik (traditional Indonesian wax-dyeing) under the guidance of a dye artist.
  4. Glass making: The staff will guide you individually. Visitors can enjoy glass blowing (using blown glass) and photo stand making.

Kanaz Forest of Creation is a place where people, nature, and art intersect.
